Currency

The official currency in Iran is the Iranian Rial (One Rial, abbr. Rls.). In daily trade, Iranians use an older unit called Tooman. One Tooman is the unit for 10 Rials. There are 1, 2, 5, 10, 50, 100, and 250 Rial coins. Coins are indicated with Persian inscription and numbers. There are 100, 200, 500, 1,000, 2,000, 5,000 and 10,000 Rial notes. The value of the notes is indicated in English on one side, and in Persian on the other side.
